Donation of 250 workbooks to a Government School in Raigad

Arcil has always striven to extend support to initiatives to promote education among children from the lesser privileged strata of society under its CSR Policy. At the time of the inauguration of the interactive science lab donated by Arcil at the Zila Parishad School at Nhavekhadi in Raigad District of Maharashtra, we were informed that there are only four teachers in the School for 1-8 standards and as a result, each teacher is required to teach two classrooms at a time. To prevent waste of study time in the School on account of a shortage of teachers, Arcil has donated 250 workbooks to the School for Standards 1-8 so that the children of one classroom remain busy while the teacher is teaching in another classroom. The workbooks were distributed to the school children by the Arcil team on September 29, 2022, amidst a lot of joy and excitement.

Arcil actively supports women empowerment programmes such as those of the tribal women of Vikramgadh in the Mokhada Taluka of Palghar District in Maharashtra through skill development and livelihood enhancement projects undertaken by Keshav Srushti (NGO). Arcil supported one such CSR initiative through the sourcing of 1000 Bamboo Rakhis manufactured by these tribal women & undertaking the distribution of these among Zila Parishad Schools at Gavhan, Nhavekhadi, Vadghar and Ritghar in Raigad District and to the Learning Centre for the Differently Abled at Vashi, Navi Mumbai.

Interactive Science Labs

To make the learning of Science and Maths more meaningful and exciting for rural children who have no access to state-of-the-art labs in their schools, Arcil has installed interactive labs with 80 easy-to-use plugin science and maths exhibits in 5 Government schools in the rural belt of Mandal on the outskirts of Hyderabad city, 4 Government Schools in the rural belt of Raigad, Maharashtra and at the Learning Centre for Special Children at Vashi, Navi Mumbai.
 
The installation of such interactive labs will reduce effective teaching time by 50-60% besides giving clarity to the students on concepts in science and mathematics through activity-based learning. Hands-on experience with the exhibits will make learning interesting and joyful for the children and ignite positive curiosity and creativity in their young minds to explore and self-learn and share their knowledge with their peer group. It will also make teaching Special Children much easier for the teachers.

Knowledge on Wheels

Considering that a large number of Zila Parishad schools do not have science labs and e-learning facilities, Knowledge on Wheels (KoW) was conceptualised by Keshav Srushti to bring science and other knowledge to the doorsteps of the underprivileged and tribal students of such schools in Palghar district. The KoW is a mobile library equipped with multiple science experiments/exhibits which carry science and co-curricular teaching aids with trained teachers to such schools. Arcil has donated one such fully equipped KoW to Keshav Srushti which was inaugurated at the hands of our CEO & MD, Mr. Pallav Mohapatra, at Mokhada on March 12, 2022, and is now fully operative since April 5, 2022, covering 12 schools and benefitting around 2500 students.

Arcil through Ratna Nidhi Charitable Trust (RNCT) ensured medical aid to the flood victims at Raigad, Maharashtra. The floods impacted over 18000 people in Raigad, making medical support critical and crucial especially during pandemic times.
